ASPHALT & GEOTECHNICAL

In the harsh Canadian environment, asphalt is the preferred roadway material due to its flexibility, ease of placement, and resistance to salt and other chemicals. However, asphalt must be properly managed during placement to ensure a long service-life.

Asphalt QA/QC program includes:

  • In-situ native material review

  • Base / sub-base review & design

  • Asphalt extraction, gradation, and mix design

  • Full Marshall asphalt test

  • On-site % void "hot compaction testing"

  • Theoretical Maximum Density testing
